Keyword Generators
Guide for Beginners to Web Site Building
By James Dowden
Beginners to web site building may not, at first, appreciate the importance of using good keywords for the content of their web site or, indeed,
before choosing their domain names
If you consider yourself to be a beginner, even if you know the importance of using relevant keywords for your site and domain name, you may
not realise that there are keyword generators or keyword selection tools available to make the task of compiling good keywords for each page
of your website as easy and as quick as possible. Furthermore, you may, also, be confused by the number of software packages being promoted
on the Internet.
Are Keyword Generators Essential?
If So, Do You Really Need to Buy or Subscribe to Use One or More of Them?
The answer to the first question is a resounding "Yes!" Without a keyword generator software of some sort, Search Engine Optimization
would be impossible - you would be working in the dark and your chances of having any visitors to your site (unless you spend tons of money on
advertising) would be almost NIL, because your site would be buried under billions of other web sites and so doomed to oblivion!
As for the second question, the answer is that you don't actually NEED to buy or subscribe to use the more sophisticated keyword generators
for Search Engine Optimization, because there are several FREE options available.
A few of these permit you to use the software without payment for the trial period of up to 30 days, after which you would either have to buy
one outright or, if it's a subscription-based program, begin paying every month for the privilege of continuing to use it. Other keyword
generators, you will be glad to know, are totally free.
If you have more TIME than money to spare, then you can simply use any of the free keyword selections tools combined with Google Search
facilities.
Type in the root keyword(s) of your choice into your chosen free keyword selection tool's search box and then dig deep (scroll down
the list) to see which phrases containing your keyword, match your proposed web site content.
Double click your chosen phrase to see if the phrases below your key choice are also relevant and whether or not the searches for those are
sufficient to produce "organic" or free traffic to your site.
Note the number of searches carried out by "Joe Public" for your main keyword(s) and related keyword phrases (you'd want to have at least a
few hundred searches against your related keywords and a couple of thousand or so searches for your main keyword[s]) and then type the selected
keyword and/or phrases (phrase at a time) into Google's search box to see what the competition for those keywords and/or keyword phrases might
be.
The lower the number of results pages (I mean well under 100,000 pages), the less competition you will have for those keywords and so there
will be a greater chance for your web site to surface for air and daylight, particularly if your site is going to be content-rich, Search Engine
Optimized as opposed to being a single sales page mini-site with limited scope for much content.
When all's said and done, you get what you pay for and whilst the free keyword generators are better than not using any, at all, you will at
some stage in the future, need to consider investing in one or more sophisticated keyword generator software programs to help you to compile
suitable keywords for your website, any PPC Adwords advertising and/or Adsense Marketing.
But until you generate an income from your website, you should investigate the free options, first, and read up on as many good beginners'
guide to keyword research, keyword generators, keyword analyzer and SEO tools as you can.
